PBSA, Hammersmith
Taranis Engineering were appointed to deliver the installation of a new Mitsubishi Hybrid HVRF air conditioning system within a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) development in the heart of Hammersmith. The project consisted of a 752-bedroom residential scheme arranged over 16 floors, incorporating extensive amenity spaces including study areas and a gym. The works formed part of a major mechanical services installation to deliver high-efficiency, low-noise, and future-proofed climate control for student living. Building 100, Didcot
The scope included removing redundant heating and cooling equipment throughout the floors, along with the removal of existing rooftop plant, including the chiller, boilers, and air handling units, and replacing them with modern, energy-efficient plant. A new HVRF heating and cooling system was installed and integrated into the existing office layouts. All works were carried out while tenants remained in occupation, requiring precise coordination and robust safety controls Existing lighting was replaced with new energy efficient LED lighting with daylight linking. Basingstoke & Deane
Taranis Engineering was appointed as Principal Contractor to deliver a full comfort cooling refurbishment at Basingstoke Council offices. The project involved upgrading the existing air conditioning infrastructure across three occupied floors to improve thermal comfort, system efficiency and long-term reliability. The programme was delivered within a challenging timescale, commencing in June and achieving successful handover by the end of September, before the council members returned. 135 Aztec West
Taranis Engineering were approached by 21st Century Building Services for the first time to tender for the Cat A works. We were successful and this quickly turned into the full design and build works for a tenant who wanted to move into the building immediately. We provided a full mechanical installation comprising of multiple Air Conditioning Systems, new Air Handling Units, and a reformatting of the water services across the property. Dolby Digital, Swindon
Taranis Engineering successfully tendered and secured the strip out, D&B of the HVAC mechanical services in an CAT A office in Swindon. Working for the incumbent FM contractor, we were able to design an energy efficient solution to bring the building up to current standards. The project entailed the isolation and strip out of three air handling units, the associated distribution ductwork, boilers, chillers and services distribution pipework, acting to expand and tune our own processes for future works. Finzels Reach
Taranis Engineering worked alongside Lancer Scott developing the design for the refurbishment of the fermentation buildings to office space on the waterfront of Bristol Quay. The requirements of developing the air conditioning and ventilation system across multiple floors, as well as co-ordinated high access plant operations allowed this project to not only result in a successful contract but also allowed us to develop our own learning and experiences with a multitude of operations. Middletons Hotel
Taranis Engineering was approached by well-established client Daniel Thwaites PLC to assist with the design and installation of the air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing/sanitaryware serving the hotel's multitude of guest rooms and interconnecting en-suite bathrooms. This project proved to develop our understanding of the necessity for perfectionist finishes to all of our services, especially those on show - we are proud to have had a hand in the development of this building and its continued use. The Kings Library
This project entailed the full refurbishment of a partially listed building into 18 luxury, high-end, domestic apartments in Central London. This extensive project included the installation of VRV systems using water-cooled condensers located within the basement due to spatial restrictions to cool said rooms. This required an in-depth understanding of the type of system requested. In addition, the installation of all secondary ductwork required not only spatial co-ordination within confined spaces but all ventilation services had to meet stringent acoustic requirements, thus developing our ability to design for and tackle particulars required in any project. 730 Aztec
This project involved replacing chilled water systems with new VRV AC equipment to provide comfort heating and cooling through the space, as to suit the evolving use of the building. Additionally, a toilet extract system was installed to serve numerous toilet block areas, including their associated shower and changing areas. As such, this project required close collaboration with a number of trades in order to ensure the completion was met on time and on budget. Taranis went on to complete the CAT B fit-out for the tenants, and to this day undertake the servicing and maintenance of installed systems. Duration: 30 Weeks Value: £400k Location: Bristol

Portland Road

The aim was to improve energy efficiency, enhance occupant comfort, and support the client's sustainability goals. Pivot & Mark
Project completed during the COVID lockdown period. The completed works achieved a BREEAM "Very Good" rating and exceeded compliance standards with the Considerate Contractor scheme. Project involved full strip-out and refurbishment of the CAT A office building while tenants remained in situ. Upgrades included a new toilet core, lift lobbies, two new lifts, and staircases. Basement works were also completed, featuring a full shower and changing facilities block. In addition, four retail units were refurbished and fitted out, complete with new shopfronts. Augstine's Courtyard
Complete strip-out and Cat A refurbishment of a 32,000 sq. ft., five-storey office building in central Bristol. The project encompassed all fabric elements, HVAC, and the VRF system throughout. Taranis Engineering Ltd was appointed to carry out the full strip-out, refurbishment, and high-quality fit-out of the 31,785 sq. ft. building, including the ground floor. The works began with a full strip-out to the shell, including all fabric and mechanical systems. Following this, all mechanical services were reconfigured, relocated, and reinstated to meet the new design specifications. Duration: 25 Weeks Value: £1.2M Location: Central Bristol
